AutoExec Macro in Add-in does not run?

Hi Fredrik,
If I then close down all instances of word and drag'n'drop the word
document into internet explorer it opens but the Macro isn't run.
Why isn't the macro run?
As I recall, "auto" Macros simply do not execute when Word files are
used in the Internet Explorer environment.

Is there anyway to create an add-in that will run when Word files are
used in the Internet Explorer environment?

Except placing the code in Normal.dot?

How about training your users to open Word first, save document files to
their hard drives, and opening them from there rather than from Internet
Explorer?

Actually, if the users have word open before they open the document
in Internet Explorer, the addins work just fine.

But really, as with all technology, it has to be adapted to how users
actually use it not the other way around. And also, everytime a user
does something the chance of error increases, a lot.

So i really need to find a working solution. For now I will place all code
in Normal.dot instead, and that works just fine.

But I'm surprised that it's not possible to create a digitally singed addin
from a trusted publisher that works when using Word embedded.
Hopefully that will work in Office 2006? Hehe ;-)

Maybe you should upgrade to a COM add-in. Off the top of my head, I believe
they will run when Word is started embedded. (It's never been a big concern
for me, so I'm not 100% sure. Other people around here, like Cindy, should
know for sure.)
