Discussion:
Add-in from Microsoft does not run macros
(too old to reply)

I loaded the Word 2002 Support Template, available from Microsoft (KB318796)
which, supposedly, enables the modification of some of the Word settings.

It creates a template in the "Microsoft Office Tools" directory. It was
installed properly as far as I know.

However, when I was trying to the macros available through this add-in, I
get the following message:

"The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help
or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros"

I do not know what the problem is. Word runs the macros I have myself
installed. Changing the level of macro security in Word does not change
anything.

To specify my setting, my OS is Windows XP professional and the Word version
is 2002. I use Norton Internet Security 2007.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Probably what you need to do is select Macro from the Tools menu in Word and
then select Security and change the Security level to Medium.

I question however.....

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your suggestion. But it had nothing to do with the security
level. Even at low, it did not work.

I finally found the solution. You must open Word BEFORE you run the Word
2002 Support Template and then, the macros are executed.

Please disregard my previous message. It was erroneous.

In fact the problem was with the Macro Security level. Putting it at Medium
did not help. However, when it was set at Low, it was possible to run the
macros from Word 2002 Support Template.

Thank you for your help.
