Auto Installing Word Templates

Can anyone help

We have been asked to create a template, no problem there...

However the template has to be automatically installed on different versions
of Word, 97, 98, 2000, & XP etc.

We would like to allow the user to insert a CD and have it automatically put
the template in the right directory, does any have experience of this, is
there an installer already available to carry out this task?

I dealt with this problem by writing a small VB app, then using the VB
package and deployment wizard. Modify the source code of setup1.exe
(supplied with the P&D wizard): query the local copy of Word to get the name
of the Templates folder, then install accordingly.

This method has the advantage that if the user uninstalls the app, the
templates are automatically removed.
